AMG LTD appoints Ian Scott as Group Managing Director

In a newly created role, AMG Ltd’s parent Group has appointed Ian Scott as Group Managing Director.

Joining the existing management team of Nadine Rankin and Darren Pearson, Scott will spearhead the growth strategy across the Group’s three core businesses: AMG Representation, a leading sales representation and tourism marketing agency, Mybookingrewards.com (MBR), an online agent incentive and booking rewards programme and Exposure4, a video content creation and distribution business.

Scott joins AMG Ltd following eight years as Director UK & Ireland for Dubai Tourism and brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in the UK travel industry.

During his tenure with Dubai he was instrumental in increasing UK visitors from 750,000, when he joined in 2007, to nearly 1.2 million visitors in 2015 - ensuring that the UK maintained its position as Dubai’s third source market. In addition, he led the destination to win a number of awards, plus implemented a significant and positive shift in Dubai's profile within the industry. Prior to leading Dubai Tourism to success, Scott held roles at First Choice Holidays, Disneyland Paris and Eos Airlines. He is also a Board Director of the Institute of Travel and Tourism.

Commenting on his appointment Ian Scott said: “I’m very excited to be joining such a diverse organisation in a role where I can be instrumental in its growth strategy. AMG is already responsible for numerous tourist boards, hotels and DMCs throughout the Caribbean, Asia and Africa so, by drawing on my Dubai experience, the addition of a Middle East division is likely to be an early priority.

I look forward to working with Nadine, Darren and the senior leadership team to help achieve the strategic goals for our existing clients as well as to grow the business in new regions and increase the breadth of AMG’s portfolio. Keep your eyes peeled for some exciting new business ventures and clients to be announced shortly!”

Commenting on Scott’s appointment, Nadine Rankin, managing partner of AMG Representation, said: “Our goal is to maintain our rich and varied client portfolio as well as to develop sound business strategies to enable us to grow into new and exciting areas”.

Darren Pearson, managing partner heading up MBR and Exposure4 added: “Ian’s proven strategic experience in developing multi-channel marketing activities and his ability to build strong relationships with key tourism industry stakeholders means he is perfectly placed to help us achieve our Group’s growth plans”.

Scott will take up his new position from the end of March 2016.
